Pre-Power Skating

Pre-Power Skating introduces young athletes to hockey-based movement in a fun and supportive setting. The program helps skaters build balance, control, and readiness for future hockey or Power Skating sessions. Coaches focus on strong skating habits that will support long-term development.

Who This Program Is For

Pre-Power Skating is designed for skaters who have completed Hockey’s Initiation Program or CanSkate Stage 2 (or higher) and are ready to begin exploring hockey-style movement. It is a great fit for children who are interested in hockey but not yet ready for full Power Skating, as well as young athletes who need a little more confidence and control on their blades before progressing to the next level.

What Athletes Learn

Skaters build balance, body control, and comfort moving in all directions. Coaches introduce forward and backward skating, quick starts, controlled stops, simple edge work, and early agility skills. Athletes also learn how to move safely within a hockey environment, giving them a strong foundation for future hockey or Power Skating programs.
