Choosing the Right Coach
for your Skater

Finding the right coach is an important step in your skater’s development. Coaches bring different styles, strengths, and areas of expertise, so it’s helpful to learn what’s available and what will best support your skater’s goals. Our coaching team follows Skate Canada standards and works closely with families to ensure a good match.

Coaches guide skaters through skills, tests, and performance development. They teach proper technique, create training plans, and help skaters prepare for assessments and competitions.

In StarSkate, coaching becomes more personalized because each skater progresses at their own pace.

Choosing a coach comes down to finding the right fit for your skater’s personality and goals.

Consider:

  • Coaching Style (Structured, Technical, Supportive)
  • Experience and certifications
  • Skill specialties (spins, jumps, dance, power, artistry)
  • Communication style
  • Availability and scheduling
  • Budget

If you’re unsure where to start, our coaching team is always happy to help you find a great match.
